Upgrading older computer to Windows 10 – RedFlagDeals.com Forums

My parents want to upgrade their computer to Windows 10 (from Vista), the computer is more than 6 years old. The specs are:Motherboard (AM3): Asus M4A77TD motherboard, AMD 770 chipset, dual channel DDR3, etcCPU: AMD Athlon II x3 445 3.1ghzRAM 4GB: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline DDR3 1333 2x 2GBVideo: Asus 8400GS silent 512mbPSU: Corsair CX430HDD: Seagate 500GB 7200rpmWould Windows 10 be compatible with this (e.g. chipset), and have enough \’power\’ for general use? I\’m thinking so.Would there be a cheap upgrade to help, e.g. would adding more ram be a significant difference?

The single largest performance upgrade for an older computer is an SSD, IMO.Highly recommended, especially when 256GB can be had for around $100 these days. You can also do a clean install of 10 and preserve the original hard drive should you want to revert back.Otherwise it should run win10 fine.
