Partitioning new SSD before fresh Windows 10 install – RedFlagDeals.com Forums

I just replaced the stock SSD in my new-to-me laptop with a brand new 1 TB SSD (thanks Hot Deals subforum!)I went ahead and installed Windows 10 from scratch on the new SSD. It went fine, but it got me thinking about how \”back in the day\” people used to partition a new HD before installing Windows, the idea being that you needed to create partitions for standby mode etc.Is this still a thing? Or can I leave it as is (I just gave the Windows installer a fresh unpartitioned SSD) Google searches seem to have different recommendations.

I always partition 300GB for the OS … keep that drive strictly for OS and other programs/apps.Save everything else on other drives/partitions.
